When an existing solar system stops producing, produces less than expected, or loses monitoring connectivity, the problem often has a specific cause that can be diagnosed and resolved without replacing the entire system. CurrentRS assesses your system, identifies the actual fault, and provides an honest recommendation — whether that's a simple repair, an inverter replacement, or a full system upgrade evaluation.

CurrentRS services solar systems installed by any contractor — not just systems we originally installed. If your solar system has stopped working, is producing less than expected, or your monitoring app has gone dark, contact CurrentRS for a service assessment in Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, or Maryland.

Solar System Stopped Producing

A system that has stopped producing entirely almost always has a specific fault that can be identified.

Complete production loss is usually caused by inverter failure, a tripped AC disconnect, grid interconnection issues, or a critical wiring fault. CurrentRS performs a systematic assessment — checking the inverter, string circuits, AC/DC disconnects, utility interconnection, and any reported fault codes — to locate the root cause. Most complete outages are resolved through inverter replacement or a targeted electrical repair.

SolarEdge Inverter Troubleshooting and Replacement

SolarEdge systems use a central inverter with distributed power optimizers on each panel.

When a SolarEdge inverter fails, the entire system stops producing even if the panels and optimizers are functioning. SolarEdge inverter faults can often be identified through the monitoring portal or by the fault display on the inverter itself. CurrentRS provides SolarEdge inverter replacement and post-replacement reconfiguration, including monitoring reconnection and production verification.

SolarEdge optimizers — the module-level devices mounted at each panel — can also fail individually, causing production loss from specific panels or strings. CurrentRS identifies failed optimizers through production data analysis and physical inspection, and replaces only the affected units.

Enphase System Service

Enphase microinverter systems distribute the inverter function to each individual panel.

In an Enphase system, a single failed microinverter affects only the panel it's attached to — so production problems in Enphase systems are often isolated to specific modules. The Enphase Enlighten monitoring portal typically identifies which microinverter has stopped reporting. CurrentRS provides microinverter replacement and IQ Gateway service for Enphase residential systems, and can diagnose communication failures that cause monitoring gaps without actual production loss.

Low Production Diagnostics

A system that is producing but below expectations may have several possible causes.

Below-expected production can result from: new shading from tree growth, soiled or damaged panels, partial string failures, failed optimizers or microinverters, wiring degradation, or inverter efficiency issues. CurrentRS analyzes your system's production history against expected output for your location and roof, then performs on-site diagnostics to identify the specific cause.

Monitoring and Connectivity Issues

A monitoring gap doesn't always mean a production problem — but it should be investigated.

Solar monitoring systems communicate via Wi-Fi or cellular connection. A router change, network reconfiguration, or hardware failure can cause the system to stop reporting data to the monitoring portal without affecting actual production. CurrentRS diagnoses monitoring connectivity issues and restores data reporting — and also verifies that production is actually occurring normally, since monitoring gaps can sometimes mask real faults.
