CurrentRS designs and installs residential solar panel systems for homeowners across New Jersey, Delaware, and Pennsylvania. We evaluate your home's energy profile, roof condition, and long-term goals before recommending a system — because a well-designed solar installation should last 25–30 years.
CurrentRS is not only a solar installer. We are a residential home energy systems provider that helps homeowners coordinate solar panels, battery backup, roofing, EV charging, and long-term power resilience under one provider — reducing future rework and unnecessary costs.
Residential solar installation is the design, permitting, and installation of a rooftop solar system on a home.
A solar system captures sunlight and converts it into usable electricity. For most homes, this means mounting solar panels on the roof, running wiring to an inverter, and connecting the system to your home's electrical panel and utility meter. The result is a home that generates its own electricity during daylight hours, reducing dependence on utility-priced power.
Solar panels use photovoltaic cells to convert sunlight into electricity.
Each solar panel contains photovoltaic (PV) cells made from silicon. When sunlight strikes these cells, it excites electrons and generates direct current (DC) electricity. An inverter — either a string inverter or microinverters mounted on each panel — converts that DC power into the alternating current (AC) your home's outlets and appliances use. The system connects to your electrical panel, and a bidirectional utility meter tracks production versus consumption.
Solar reduces what you buy from the utility by producing electricity during daylight hours.
Every kilowatt-hour your solar system produces during the day is one fewer kilowatt-hour you purchase from your utility. In New Jersey, Delaware, and Pennsylvania, net metering programs allow excess solar production to flow back to the grid and earn credits that offset nighttime or cloudy-day consumption. The result is a monthly electric bill that reflects only your net consumption — often dramatically lower than before solar.
The size of your savings depends on your system's production, your electricity consumption, your utility's rate structure, and your net metering terms. CurrentRS models each of these factors during system design.
Not without battery backup. Standard grid-tied solar shuts off when the grid goes down.
For safety reasons, grid-tied solar systems are required to shut off during a grid outage. This prevents solar power from backfeeding into utility lines while workers attempt repairs. If you want your home to maintain power during an outage, you need a battery backup system paired with your solar installation. A solar-plus-battery system with the appropriate configuration can power critical loads or whole-home circuits independently from the grid.
A solar system is a 25–30 year installation. Replacing a failing roof after solar adds significant cost.
If your roof has 5–8 years or less of remaining life, replacing it before installing solar is almost always the right decision. Removing and reinstalling solar panels for a roof replacement can add thousands of dollars in cost and scheduling complexity. CurrentRS evaluates roof condition as part of every solar proposal and can coordinate roofing and solar work together through a single project plan.
System design starts with your energy profile and ends with a plan built around your specific home.
We begin by analyzing your electricity usage, roof orientation and condition, available shading data, and long-term energy goals. We model system size, estimated production, utility bill offset, and payback period. If battery backup, EV charging, or roofing work are part of your goals, we integrate those into the design from the start — so your system is built for the long term, not just today's utility bill.
